Sandpoint Yoga Classes, Sandpoint Yoga Studio
Welcome to Sandpoint, Idaho, a community of 6,835 people located in the Panhandle of Idaho on Lake Pend Oreille (pon-der-ray). We have more than 30 churches of varying denominations, one public library, three Starbucks, and 11 Yoga studios where you can find almost any type of yoga popular today.
When you walk into one of my classes--you will almost always find a group of people laughing; sharing stories of their families or of some recent sports adventure. My students enjoy sharing the freedom of friendship and community.
When a class begins, my students become yogis: independently working on their poses, reflecting on their breath and the feelings that are occurring in their bodies. Class is structured around a central intention or heart theme and emphasizes an aspect of the anatomy and its relationship to proper alignment.
We use various props in class--whatever will help us to achieve our poses without pain or injury to our bodies. The practice of ahisma or non-violence, is the basis for my teaching philosophy. Trying too hard to the point of pain or injury; criticism of self or others; comparison; or fear, take us away from the ultimate goal of yoga: to find the true self of acceptance, love, joy, and grace.
My Yoga classes are offered at different studios throughout the Sandpoint, Idaho area. I invite you to come and join with our Sandpoint Kula.
